Samsung Galaxy S5, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear Fit ship globally

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has gone on sale in 125 countries, as part of its global launch. Initially unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, the flagship smartphone is being sold in stores and through carriers in the US, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and the majority of Asia, flanked by the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear fit smart watches.
In the United States, AT&T is selling the Galaxy S5 for $199 on a two-year contract, $649 off-contract, and for $32.50 per month over 20 months through AT&T Next. Verizon prices the device at the same $199 price on a two-year commitment, though off-contract it costs $599, and $25.22 per month under Verizon Edge. Sprint is offering it for a similar $199 on-contract cost and $649 off-contract, though under Easy Pay it costs $27.09 per month for 23 months with a final payment of $26.92. Sprint is also offering a free Galaxy Tab 3 if the Galaxy S5 is bought on a Framily plan. T-Mobile charges $660 off-contract, or alternately $27.50 per month over 24 months.

Going on sale at the same time, the updated Gear 2 smart watch is being sold for around $300, depending on the retailer, with the Gear 2 Neo selling for a slightly cheaper $199. The Gear Fit, with a curved display and a greater emphasis on tracking fitness, is priced at $199.

While the global launch of the device is taking place today, the Galaxy S5 has already been sold to a number of customers in Samsung's native South Korea. SK Telecom started selling the flagship smartphone in late March, defying Samsung's release date in order to sell stock of the device before a regulator-imposed ban on new subscriptions commenced.
